It is like a VPN but taken to the next level. Using PML hardware Gateways, it means you can connect them to Internet Routers in 2 different locations (eg. UK and Spain) and establish a direct & secure link. When connected to your Gateway in Spain, you will actually "be" in the UK using the IP address from your Home Internet connection. No need to configure anything in any devices.
The PML Gateway (Private META-Link) is a tiny Hardware device that is completely configured to function in the Proximus system. In order to establish a "Link", 2 devices are required, one at each location. Anything you connect to the PML Gateway will be teleported to the PML Gateway at the other location.
You need at least 2 to establish the Link between 2 locations. If you use 1 as the "Home Gateway" in London for example, it is possible to add more PML Gateways which connect to the "Home Gateway" from other other locations.
The PML Gateway provides a single 1Gbps LAN (Ethernet) port. You could connect a single PC /Laptop to this port with a LAN cable or you could connect a WiFi Access point or even a Switch to this LAN port.
No. Simply connect your device to the PML Gateway and enjoy.
Yes. Many users like this option as it allows them to create another WiFi Network called "UK WiFi" for example. Anything you connect to this new WiFi Network will automatically go though to "the other side" ;-)
You will be using whichever IP Address that is currently assigned by your ISP in your Home country. So even though you may be abroad, you are actually "at home" through the Proximus Link.
Yes. You should be able to access local websites, administration portals, TV content or platforms as if you were actually at home. The PML Gateway is essentially an extremely "long cable" connecting you to your home wherever you are.
Yes. It would also be advisable to do so. Initially you can start with the most basic package and then you will see if this is enough for you.
Yes. Even if ISP's at both locations use CGNAT, the Proximus Link will still work.
Yes. The PML Gateways will automatically connect to the Proximus Server which will authenticate and establish the secure connection between both devices.
